LS Retail imagines future shopping at Innovation Fest 2015

LS Retail imagines future shopping at Innovation Fest 2015
From search engines to find all your favorite brands, to apps to plan the ideal holiday (on a budget) to software solutions that make grocery shopping less of a chore, LS Retail’s first Innovation Fest was full of original ideas that use current and future technology to make shopping quicker and more enjoyable.

Buying clothes made easy

The winning innovation is a shopping app that uses body-scan and cloud technology, along with personal information from the user, to help consumers find the perfect clothes. The app helps shoppers find and buy the products they desire quickly and easily, while also enabling retailers to improve their inventory and decrease returns. Talk about a win-win! It is no surprise that the judges crowned it best retail innovation of the day. The winning team included six LS Retail employees and Sini Hannele Koskenseppä, Business and Marketing student at the University of Reykjavik.   [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcmZ0h1z26E&rel=0&width=800=align=center]   Other ideas included an app that organizes a family’s shopping lists to make the weekly trips to the supermarket quicker and more effective; a restaurant application that helps diners get better and timelier tableside service; a service that helps people brainstorm for gifts. Some teams even foresaw the future of the future of shopping, creating HoloRetail – shopping from home, at the store, by HoloLens.
