GS25
GS25 is one of South Korea's most recognized convenience store chains. Since expanding to Mongolia in 2021, the brand has grown fast, now reaching over 280 stores. By implementing LS Central, GS25 replaced a patchwork of disconnected systems with a single operational backbone. Supply chain operations are more efficient; finance and accounting teams have real-time visibility and clarity, and leadership can monitor the entire network of stores from one place.
Operating 280+ stores with the same platform
With all their operations now running on a single platform, GS25 has completely transformed their day-to-day:
-
Supply chain operations are more efficient despite the complexity and volume involved – organized data and standardized processes have created room for further automation
-
Finance and accounting teams now have real-time visibility and clarity, without disrupting business flow
-
Month-end costing processes that were once a major operational burden are now streamlined and fully manageable
-
Management can monitor all 280+ stores from one place, with data they can rely on
As Mr. Enk, CTO of Digital Concept and ERP Project Manager, says:
“Now we have real-time data, we can closely monitor all business activities and make timely decisions, especially for Finance & Accounting and Supply Chain teams. The ERP becomes a backbone system for us to expand the business with more confidence and enhance process automation to continue improving efficiency.”
A proven platform built to scale with multi-location retail needs
Beyond the day-to-day, LS Central fundamentally expands what the company can achieve. The ambition extends far beyond 280 stores: GS25 is laying the foundation for a scalable franchising model that will enable entrepreneurs and businesses to open new GS25 locations or seamlessly convert existing stores into the network.
Running in SaaS is what makes this level of scalability possible:
-
All store data is centralized in the Microsoft cloud, creating a single source of truth across the entire operation
-
New stores can be onboarded, new capabilities added, and further automation layered in rapidly – with updates and improvements delivered automatically
-
The standardized processes and clean data structure established during the implementation project make every future improvement faster and cost efficient to deliver
How GS25 outgrew their previous tech setup
In 2021, GS Retail brought the GS25 brand to Mongolia through a partnership with the Shunkhlai Group, operating under the name Digital Concept LLC. When GS25 Mongolia launched, Digital Concept relied on a local ERP and POS system that left supply chain operations managed in Excel and data unsynchronized across multiple sources. Manual reconciliation was slow, error-prone, and increasingly unsustainable as the store count grew.
By the time the network reached 280 stores, the cracks were hard to ignore. Finance operations, complex supply chain management, and the sheer volume of daily transactions had outgrown what the old setup could handle. The business was expanding faster than its infrastructure could keep up with.
Delivering a future-ready foundation
Digital Concept decided to replace both the ERP and POS systems in one move, a significant but necessary step to streamline end-to-end processes and build a platform capable of supporting long-term growth. The chosen solution was LS Central running on cloud, paired with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
For the implementation, Digital Concept selected Balas Technologies, an LS Retail partner with regional experience across Asia and the expertise to handle a project of this complexity in the Mongolian market.
Over six months, Balas Technologies kept things on track. The team worked through the integrations – banks, tax authority, and more – migrated data from all stores, and made sure the system was properly set up for the transaction volumes and operational needs of a growing store network.
The go-live landed on schedule, with no disruption to ongoing operations.
As Mr. Enk explains:
“The upgrade ERP project has set a significant foundation to grow for our company. The adoption of cloud technology shows that we are resilient and ready for technological changes. The project was a great test for our team, and the result has been proven that we can learn and overcome any challenge ahead. I am very proud and thankful for the team for their commitment, hard work, and positive energy.”
Q&A: insights from gs25' implementation
Why did GS25 grow out of their existing ERP?
With 280+ stores, Excel was no longer a viable option for supply chain management as daily transactions run into the millions per month. Data was scattered across systems, reconciliation was manual and slow, and the risk of errors was high. The business had simply grown beyond what spreadsheets could support.
What does LS Central enable for GS25 that wasn't possible before?
Real-time visibility across the entire operation is the biggest shift. Finance and supply chain teams can now monitor what's happening as it happens, rather than working off yesterday's data. That changes how quickly decisions can be made and how confidently the business can plan for what's next.
What made the cloud the right choice for GS25?
With hundreds of stores to operate, the company needed infrastructure that could support future growth, enabling them to open new stores faster and always get access to the latest functionality without rebuilding from scratch or having to manage it all themselves.
