We are proud to be recognized among the top companies to work at in Iceland, according to the annual Company of the Year survey conducted by the Icelandic workers’ union VR. LS Retail was ranked in the top 10 among large Icelandic companies and placed second among IT companies on the list.
Every year, VR conducts a nationwide survey of employees’ attitudes towards their workplace based on nine key factors, which are rated on a scale of 1-5.
The factors include:

Management – do employees feel supported and guided by their managers?

Morale – are employees satisfied with the relationships and teamwork in the workplace?

Salary and benefits – do employees feel fairly compensated for their work?

Working conditions – do employees have the tools, resources, and environment they need to work effectively?

Flexibility at work – can employees maintain a healthy work-life balance?

Independence at work – do employees feel confident taking ownership of their tasks and responsibilities?

Company image – do employees have a positive perception of the company?

Job satisfaction – are employees proud of their workplace?

Equity – do employees feel they are treated fairly and given equal opportunities, regardless of age, gender, background, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs?
The top 15 companies with the highest scores among small, medium, and large companies are awarded the title of Model Firm. LS Retail ranked 8th in the large company category, which includes companies with 70+ employees. The awards ceremony was held on May 13th at Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik, Iceland.
