LS Central 27.0: Enhancements to pharmacies and LS Central back office

LS Central 27.0: Enhancements to pharmacies and LS Central back office

With version 27.0, LS Central introduces a range of updates designed to make both pharmacy operations and general back-office workflows more efficient, accurate, and user-friendly. These improvements help teams save time, reduce errors, and provide smoother experiences for staff and customers alike.

LS Central for pharmacies

Streamlined prescription label management

A new “Print Unprinted Labels” action has been added to the Prescription Order Page, making label management much more efficient. Now, when a prescription quantity changes, the system prints only the additional labels needed instead of reprinting all of them.

For example, if a prescription is updated from ten to fifteen items, only five new labels are printed. The original Label Barcode stays the same, ensuring continuity and accuracy throughout the dispensing process.

When confirming prescription order lines in the GUI, label printing now follows this new logic automatically. Pharmacy administrators just need to update the post command parameters to enable the new functionality by setting the Post Parameter to PRINT_UP_ORDER_LAB for the Confirm button in the GUI.

This update helps pharmacies save time, reduce waste, and maintain barcode consistency, creating a smoother and more reliable prescription process.

Norwegian pharmacy localization now available in AL

As of version 27.0, the Norwegian localization for LS Central for pharmacies is now available as an AL extension — a major step forward for pharmacies in Norway. Previously only available in CAL, the localization now benefits from a more modern, flexible architecture that makes future updates and improvements easier to deliver.

While this release is currently available for OnPrem deployments, it’s already on the roadmap for SaaS compatibility, ensuring long-term accessibility for all users. Norway is now the second localization available in AL, following Iceland.

Fresh new look for Norwegian web templates

With this release, the Norwegian web templates have also been refreshed to align with the modern, sleek design of the Web POS. The new templates make the prescription flow look and feel more streamlined, so teams can easily navigate and find the information they need.

Send transactions with Azure Storage and Service Bus

We’re happy to share a new feature that makes it easier and faster for POS systems to send transactions using Azure. With this update, each POS device can now save its transactions directly to Azure Storage and send a message to an Azure Service Bus queue. That message tells Head Office where to find the transaction data. Head Office can then easily read and process these transactions from storage when needed, allowing you to improve transaction handling across your retail network.

Key benefits of this enhancement include:

  • Independent transaction sending: Multiple POS systems can send transactions without relying on a constant connection to Head Office, ensuring continuous operation even during connectivity issues.
  • Reduced locking risks: Eliminates the risk of table locks at Head Office caused by simultaneous transaction writes from multiple POS units.
  • Optimized network usage: Significantly reduces web service calls to Head Office, minimizing the risk of hitting operational limits in the BC SaaS environment.

New storage and queue service integration module

We have a new integration that provides a flexible and scalable way to integrate cloud storage and messaging services to LS Central.

With the new Storage and Queue Service integration you can seamlessly connect LS Central with Azure Storage Accounts and Azure Service Bus. The module introduces a set of standardized interfaces that enable smooth interaction with external storage and messaging providers. These interfaces are designed to be used both in the core LS Central platform and by partners extending the system, ensuring future-proof versatility and customization.
