I think Dynamics NAV 2016 is probably the best version of NAV ever. Every new release seems to bring new functionality and improvements that give immediate benefits to our customers. What I find the most interesting about NAV 2016 is the balanced mix of functionality, both technical and functional. The top functional improvements in my mind are the phone app and the web client. The web client has become so good that you don’t really need the windows client anymore. I also think that the PowerBI integration will change reporting as we know it. Its incredibly easy to connect Dynamics NAV to PowerBI and start creating dashboards in minutes. The top technical improvement? It’s the extensions, no question about it. Extensions enable you to modify your Microsoft Dynamics NAV system without directly altering the source resources, making it easier to deploy, manage, and upgrade customizations or extensions. This will really take the product to the next level by allowing customers to make changes to the system still do monthly updates.
