English Heritage modernizes its systems with K3 Retail, LS Retail & Microsoft
This project will enable English Heritage to reduce many manual processes, providing them with new ways of working, enabling them to spend more time focusing on visitors to their historic sites.
The Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 system from K3 Retail, LS Retail and EPoS from Merac will be used to support the front end of the business through to the back-office, ranging from admissions and ticketing, membership transactions and renewals, sales at the on-site shops and cafes, through to promoting the broad range of events held at English Heritage sites from medieval jousts to battle re-enactments.
With the new system, English Heritage will have total visibility of the business allowing them to better manage their stock across the retail estate. This includes the latest in stock management and forecasting for accurate and efficient inventory processing.
This will allow English Heritage to understand which products sell best at each site, determining the optimum levels of stock held. With enhanced stock control and auto replenishment, there will be better availability of popular products with less risk of over stocking the stores, leading to a higher return on investment on inventory.
John Little, Sales Director at K3 Retail summarized: “In addition to providing functionality to deliver existing services, the K3 Retail and LS Retail partnership provides English Heritage with the opportunity to expand and improve them, including the introduction of auto replenishment, improved online shopping and an improved understanding of their member and customer-base.”
The new Merac POS will help speed up admissions, support retail sales and facilitate improved profit generation in the many catering facilities across all English Heritage sites, delivering increased functionality for menu planning, recipe costing and improved stock management – reducing cost of sales and write-offs.
The new business solution will provide the core business with the modern functionality needed to run over 100 staffed properties, by exploiting the latest innovative technology from LS Retail, K3’s oldest retail IT technology partner, and deliver a flexible platform for future growth to ensure English Heritage can keep pace with customers’ changing requirements.
