In the last two years a new market has emerged for the Landsteinar Strengur solutions: Fun and Leisure Parks.

The first customer was Heritage Park in Canada, which was followed up by the Parken Stadium and Djurs Sommerland in Denmark. This year, the Landsteinar Strengur solutions have been installed in Aalborg Zoo (Denmark) and Ocenario in Lisbon, which was a very useful reference for Zoo Marine in Rome.

Zoo Marine evaluated the S3 retail solution from IBM before they decided on Landsteinar Retail for its 15 stores. The contract was signed 25 April 2005. The entire project must be completed, with the stores in operation, before 1 June 2005. The project is managed by Gesca, the Landsteinar Strengur partner in Rome, in cooperation with Observing.

One of the strengths of the Landsteinar Strengur solutions for leisure parks is that they can handle different types of retail operations such as ticket sales, souvenir shops and restaurant management in the same system.  

 “Obviously there is a lot of potential for the LS retail solutions in the Rome area. Together with Gesca we expect to win several retail projects in Rome this year,” says Lorenzo Sala, Director of the Navision Business in Observing.
