Arquiconsult Sistemas de Informação Lda. was selected by the franchised company of the worldwide video rental giant, for the project implementation of its information system in Portugal.

The scope of this project will be the implementation of the Microsoft Navision system in the back-office, and LS Retail to manage its 26 stores.

This Navision integrated solution will allow the store chain to monitor its total sales and results per store, both online and offline.

Microsoft Navision Solution and LS Retail Add-on
The solution chosen by Blockbuster for store integrated management includes: Back-office, the Financial, Fixed Assets, Logistics and Provisioning modules. The LS Retail add-on will be used for the 26 stores, for full video rental management - (the company’s core business). Microsoft Navision CRM will be implemented as well.

Some of the main goals to reach with this project are:

• Front-office system: Coordination of all the stores. Allowing data analysis from the full stores group; a higher human resources optimization and, among other advantages, a lower cost of ownership than the previous diverse dispersed systems.
• Competitive advantages compared to its market competitors, especially better knowledge of the customers for each store and store group.
• Better inventory overview and inventory management in each store. It will also allow better management of “rental to sale” films and improve the planning of films to stock in each store.
• Better, more efficient and faster service in the store.
• More systematic adaptation of the diverse marketing campaigns.
• More precise and explicit access to customer information as well as more efficient knowledge/crossing success key factors.
