In the year since LS Retail ehf became an independent unit, the company has grown in strength, and the future looks bright. The inclusion of LS Retail in the 2008 Microsoft Inner Circle and President´s Club was a major boost. With more demand for the company products all over the world, LS Retail has recruited a number of new employees to face new challenges with a strengthened team in all positions.

In the summer, Gunnar Björn Gunnarsson took over as CEO from Aðalsteinn Valdimarsson, but the latter is still Chairman of the Board. Gunnar Björn came to LS Retail from KPMG and has vast business experience on top of his degrees in management and accounting from London, Oslo and the University of Iceland. Gunnar was CEO of Concorde Axapta Iceland 1998-2001.

The new partner managers are Qiping Sun, who actually joined the team a year ago. He is responsible for most of Asia and Oceania, and Katja Ocvirk. Katja is based in her native Slovenia. She adds valuable retail experience to the marketing department, with her background as  IT manager for Skupina Tus d.o.o., one of the fastest growing retail operations in Central Europe. Katja has a degree in Business and Economics from the University of Maribor.

Guðbjartur Páll Guðbjartsson has started working with the AX-unit. A well-known name in the Navision world, Guðbjartur has 20 years‘ experience in this field. He founded Landsteinar in 1993, and has worked as consultant in various pioneer projects, for example when Navision UK was founded. From 2000 Guðbjartur has worked mostly in the UK as consultant, mainly for K3 and its predecessors.

LS Ladies: Hrefna, Hildur, Anna Kristín, Lára, Katja, Björk and Ester

Ester Bjargmundsdóttir joined the NAV-unit recently. Her background is in risk management at one of the major banks in Iceland, and she has a degree in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Reykjavik.

Kristján Ásvaldsson comes to LS Retail from Marel, where he worked for 14 years after completing his degree at the Computer Science College in Reykjavík (TVÍ). He will work on the Data Director.

Lára V. Albertsdóttir is the new addition to the Financial Department and will work alongside Björk in Licences and Finance. She used to be the Office Manager of the Union of Icelandic Physiotherapists for several years before coming to LS Retail in the summer.

Anna Kristín Jeppesen is working in the support team, mainly focusing on testing and documentation. She has an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Mid-Sweden University and taught Mathematics and Computer Science at the prestigious MR grammar school before joining LS Retail.
