IBS starts the implementation of LS Retail and the IBS Retail industry-specific solution at Hachette Distribution Services (HDS)

IBS, a Landsteinar Strengur’s Partner in Russia has started the implementation of Landsteinar Retail and the IBS Retail industry-specific solution, based on the Microsoft Navision platform, at the head-office and two stores of the Russian branch of Hachette Distribution Services (HDS), a world leader in distribution of periodicals. The first two HDS stores opened in the MEGA shopping mall in the Moscow suburb of Khimki on December 15, 2004.

IBS Retail runs the entire cycle of sales, logistical, financial, and management accounting, supports all sales and procurement processes, and generates retail-specific analytical reports.

The first phase of the project included the computerization of printed product retail sales processes with IBM SurePOS-SK POS terminals, cash flow management and supplier relationship management processes.

This first phase of the project was completed within just one month, the shortest project phase period ever for a project of this kind, from the contract signing date till the first store launch. This resulted from close cooperation between the two companies and a new IBS strategy based on combining the advantages of adaptive replicable solutions running on state-of-the-art information platforms and the unique project experience of IBS staff, including over 600 projects for retail companies. This combination helps to drastically reduce implementation times, as IBS Retail already supports the automation of most common retail business processes, and the vast retail expertise and previous project experience of IBS staff enable them to customize and expand the solution functionality within very short timeframes.

IBS Retail is based on Microsoft Business Solutions-Navision and uses Landsteinar Retail modules from Landsteinar Strengur and IBS products. The solution uses state-of-the-art management technologies and accommodates specific requirements of both western and Russian retail business practices.
