LS Retail Worldwide Partner Conference 2007

With an unprecedented wave of innovation on the horizon, Landsteinar Strengur prepared its channel of industry partners to empower customers with Retail Ready solutions and services.

Landsteinar Strengur held the LS Retail Worldwide Partner Conference 2007, 28-30 March 2007 by showcasing how innovative software and services will build unprecedented business opportunities for partners.

The conference, LS Retail’s annual event for partners from around the world, included three days of keynote presentations by Microsoft, LS Retail and LS Retail Partners and add-on solution partners, including product- and service-specific sessions, technical sessions and sales and marketing sessions. The main conference day was held at the Microsoft Portugal offices.

The LS Retail Worldwide Partner Conference provided the LS Retail partner community with access to key marketing and business strategies, leadership, and information regarding specific customer solutions designed to help partners succeed in the marketplace. Along with informative learning opportunities covering sales, marketing, services and technology, the Worldwide Partner Conference is an ideal setting for partners to garner valuable knowledge from their peers, LS Retail and from Microsoft.

There were approximately 53 partners and 130 members in attendance. The main event day was kicked off by Sandana Kichenane, Retail Distribution Wholesales Industry Manager, Microsoft.

“With 160 new retail customers in 2006 operating more than 10.000 POS, LS Retail and the LS Retail partners make a significant contribution to the success of Microsoft Dynamics for this specific market place” says Sandana Kichenane.

Other quest speakers included Jan Sillemann, Director of Product Management  - Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Michael Tyrsted, Program Manager, Microsoft Dynamics AX. Jan and Michael discussed the Microsoft Dynamics Roadmaps.

The new  Sales and Purchase Document Approval and Prepayments functionality will make it very attractive for retailers to invest in Dynamics NAV 5.0 or upgrade from previous versions. Dynamics NAV 5.0 continues to increase the integration to Microsoft Office - specifically in Word and Excell"   

If we look further into Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.1, we will introduce the Role Tailored User Experience Concepts. As always this will  be fully customizable, so this will make it possible for the LS Retail partners to tailor-made retail specific functionality to the different roles in the retail industry.

I agree with Steen. The market is there. We just signed a frame agreement with a customer about delivering 3000 licenses of LSPOS.NET over the next 3 years. So it is very important for us to be on the forefront with the LS Retail product strategy.
